FAQ - Super Visa

The key difference between a Super visa and a regular visitor visa is that the Super Visa allows an individual to stay for up to two years at a time in Canada, while a regular visitor visa only allow you to stay in Canada of up to six months for each entry.

Super visas allow holders to remain in Canada for up to two years. If you want to stay in Canada for longer than two years, you must apply to extend your stay. In most cases, you can be granted extensions for up to 1 year. You should submit your extension application no later than 30 days before your current status expires.

Even if you don’t need a visitor visa to enter Canada, you can still get a super visa to stay in Canada for up to 2 years.

We recommend applying for the correct visa according to your intention, so if you plan to stay in Canada for longer than six months, you must apply for a Super visa.
