OINP reopens for permanent residency applications with points system changes

The points system has changed!

Ontario's provincial program reopens this tuesday, for permanent residency applications with changes to the points system.

With the change in the codification of the NOCs, the provincial programs also went through a pause for technological implementation, and today the OINP reopens for applications.

Check out some significant changes:

- Score related to TEER (formerly NOC Skill Level - 2016) will not be applied for the Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream.

- The time that the worker is in the position of your job offer will be worth points.

- For the study score, candidates will have more points if they have education in the following areas: Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science and Trades.

- The job offer location and study location, which was previously limited to "Outside of GTA" and "Inside of GTA," will now split into Northern Ontario (highest scoring area), Other Areas Except North (average scoring ), Within GTA (lowest score) and Toronto (no score).
